PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A documentary, “Killing Coal Country” debuted at the University of Pikeville Film and Media Arts Festival on Saturday evening. This documentary exposes the so-called “war on coal.”
Slater Teague, film maker, shared that this documentary exposes the recent decline of the coal industry.

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – “Killing Coal Country,” a documentary about the decline of the coal industry in Appalachia, will debut at the University of Pikeville Film and Media Arts Festival in Pikeville, Kentucky, on Saturday, April 8. The screening will take place at 5:15 p.m. in the Booth Auditorium on campus. The festival is open to the public with free admission.
“I am very excited about this opportunity to show my documentary,” filmmaker Slater Teague said in a news release. “A lot of filming took place in the Pikeville area, so this is a perfect location to debut my film.”
